Kids who have mastered the basic skills of sailing are encouraged to join WSC’s Junior Sailing Program, a great opportunity to practice more advanced concepts of boat handling, sail trim, and racing tactics under the supervision of expert coaches. The Junior Sailing Program meets Monday, Wednesday, & Sunday. They will be practicing and racing in the Optimist Pram racing dinghy. All kids with basic sailing skills 13 years of age and younger are encouraged to enroll.

All new team members are required to take a beginning sailing class at Willamette Sailing Club prior to the first practice. Visit WSC's Learn to Sail page for fees and schedules.

The Oregon Youth Sailing Foundation (OYSF) was established in 2007 in Portland, Oregon. It's mission is "to encourage and support the sport of sailing in Oregon and the Northwest, with an emphasis on education and youth sailing." The organization will support youth sailors in their endeavors to compete in national and international amateur sailing competition.
The OYSF accepts tax-deductible contributions and makes grants to support youth dinghy sailing. OYSF Website
