Adult group lessons are offered on evenings and weekends thoughout the summer. Beginners learn the basics of rigging and sailing in 14 ft. Club 420s. An intermediate class is offered for sailors who have completed the beginner class and want to take their skills to the next level.
No experience is necessary to take Adult Beginning Sailing. You will learn how to rig and sail a two-person, 14' Sailboat. Ultimately you will be able to sail the boat away from the dock, to a selected location on the river, and return to the dock. This class concentrates on teaching the basics of sailing, while spending as much time as possible on the water.

After you have mastered the skills of sailing upwind, downwind, tacking, and gybing, you can take Intermediate Sailing. Expands on the knowledge and skills learned in the Beginning course and introduces concepts of boat handling, sail trim, and tactics.
