Moorage Procedures & Regulations

When you sign up for moorage at WSC, you agree to abide by all current Willamette Sailing Club rules as published in the WSC by-laws and operating policies.  Moorage can be immediately terminated for failure to comply with any such rules or regulations.  These regulations may change at any time at the discretion of the WSC Board of directors or by the moorage chairman (as provided below).

1.   Application for moorage rental shall be made either via the web form at www.willamettesailingclub.com or in writing to the moorage chairman. Moorage shall be provided as available to eligible members of Willamette Sailing Club and on a space available basis to their guests for specific functions. Persons applying for moorage shall allow sufficient time for the moorage chairman to select and assign a moorage space before bringing the boat to the property. Guest moorage will be immediately forfeited when required to serve members.

2.   Anyone renting a moorage space will be referred to as Lessee in the remainder of this section.

4.    Moorage rental can be immediately terminated for lessee’s failure to comply with any rules or regulations of WSC.  

5.    All boats moored at WSC are moored at the risk of their owner. WSC is not responsible for damage or losses of any kind to boat or other personal property left on premises.  

6.    Lessee’s termination of moorage must be given to the moorage chairman, either via the web form or in writing, at least 30 days prior to the intended date of termination. Lessee will be responsible for rents 30 days following notification to moorage chairman.  

7.    Delinquent moorage payments become a lien against moored boat.

8.   Moorage space will be forfeited if a member is delinquent in his dues, moorage fees or other club obligations for a period of three months or more.

9.   The moorage chairman may arrange the positioning of any boat moored or stored at the club to accommodate the best use of the facility, including reassignment of spaces. Infrequently used boats maybe reassigned to less desirable moorage locations.

10.  Space is rented for storage of one boat and its associated equipment with the exception that multiple empty trailers can be stacked in a single moorage space. Two boats can be stored with the approval of the moorage chairman. Approval will be based on ability to store boats without adversely effecting any other club members use of the facilities, particularly adjacent moorage spaces.

11.  Moorage spaces my not be loaned, subleased or in any other manner transferred to other individuals. Spaces may only be reassigned by the moorage chairman on a first come first serve basis.

12.  All boats and trailers must be kept in neat and serviceable condition. Trailers with or without boats on them shall be easily movable at all times (tires inflated) and boats free of water. Boats can be moved by the moorage chairman, his designee or any designee of the WSC board as is needed to perform club functions and duties.

13.  Bunks and tie downs are the responsibility of the Lessee.

14.  Boats in moorage spaces shall be kept tied down in such a way as to prevent their movement from wind or storm. This includes keeping lot moored boats tied fore and aft to their trailers and if necessary tied to ground moorings to be provided by lessee.

15.  Lessee is responsible for keeping moorage space clean and free of hazards including weeds, moss, algae and garbage.

16.  All boats moored on docks A, B, C, D, F, and G shall leave 12 inches of walking space between their transoms and the water.

17.  All boats and trailers moored on club grounds shall have semi-permanent labels attached to both boat and trailer. (Labels to be provided by WSC). Labels shall be plainly visible, one placed on the boat transom in the upper starboard corner, one place on the port bow at the most upper forward point. A label shall be placed on the trailer. Trailers shall also have owners name, boat type and boat number plainly marked on them.

18.  If a member sells their boat and wishes to retain their moorage, they shall notify the moorage chairman and provide the moorage chairman with information about their new boat.

19.  “For Sale” signs or other such notices are not allowed on boats, trailers, or anywhere on the property with the exception of bulletin boards provided for this purpose.

20.  Short term moorage for visiting yacht club members or guests of fleets or members may be given at the discretion of the moorage chairman providing space is available. This space is to be used for a maximum of two weeks.

21.   Any boats stored on property without notifying moorage chairman or which are left in excess of a cumulative total of 14 days during the year will be charged at a moorage rate of $1.50 per day.

22.   Members of other yacht clubs recognized by WSC may be assigned a moorage space for extended periods (at the moorage chairman’s discretion) based on space availability.  The non-member moorage fee will be 150% of the current moorage fee for the assigned space and will be billed monthly.  Moorage space assignments can be changed or discontinued without notice by the moorage chairman based on WSC Member needs.  Priority for moorage spaces will always go to WSC members.  Non-members requesting WSC moorage must follow the same process and guidelines as WSC members.  Extended moorage does not provide unlimited access to WSC to visiting members from other yacht clubs.  They may use the facilities during WSC sanctioned events or in the company of a WSC member as their guest.
